HI,

I'm kinda new to the whole "build a performance car" if you know what I mean. I purchased a e34 BMW 530i Touring late May this year since my M5 got stolen. This special Touring has a swapped engine to a M60B40 and some other modifications such as. M5 LSD, special built Exhaust system with race catalysts from "Ferrita/Swedish Exhasut makers", Final gear 3.24, and last but not least a Supercharger from powerdyne with a 928 motorsports rebuild boosting 9psi.

So! I'm starting to have some problems with the car such as the supercharger breaking so I think I'm gonna sell it if anybody wants to buy it. The biggest problem is that I have low compression on one of the cylinders. I know which one but don't know the number. Furthest back on the left side, the one nearest to the drivers side, LHD btw . The other cylinders where at 12-12.6 BAR<-Correct? and the Low Comp' was at 6-6.5. Also the crankcase ventilation<-Correct? have pressed out a lot of oil, and the last time i checked there was something, it looked like "grease" mixture of oil and glycol/water? Any ideas what could have happened?

I have a project I'm about to start. So if you could give me some feedback what you think I should do, I would be very gratefull. I have a spare engine lying around so why shouldnt i try to build a relible 600hp engine out of it with a supercharger boosting 1 bar with intercooler. Do you guys have some good urls to homepages with alot of cheap and good stuff i would be gratefull.

Parts that I intend to buy and things that I intend to get performed.

VAC Flanged Cylinder Sleeve, 92-94mm
New pistons <- Looking for a new CR of 9.0:1
H-profile Rods <- Any ideas?
Balance the Crank, flywheel
New valves needed?
Thicker head gaskets? <- Ideas?

So what do you think? Is this going to be possible? Or should i let go of the idea?

Sorry for the long texts, false grammatics and bad english.

/alex

It sounds like a good project but I think the number of replies will be little to none. Your best bet is to hook up with a known engine builder and go over your goals together. It is a pretty involved build and you want to plan out a budget and a desired end result with whoever is building the car. Try contacting Andreas at www.pure-pf.com for some direction.

I was thinking of doing that. But it seems like they have no parts for the M60 engine. so if they're going to help me build it, it's going to ruin me :) .. But thanks for the tip, I think I gonna drop him a mail though just to check a few stuff with him. :)
