Trying to get HID bulbs and ballasts for a 2008 Camry.
The bulbs are 55w H11
But all the kits I have found on ebay are 35w kits
can these be used? do I need anything extra?
If I find a 55w kit, would it be better?

Thanks guys

please stay away from kits on ebay. they are cheap for a reason. horrible product and ZERO customer service. 55w kits will be extremely bright, 35w will be more than enough, its not a rally car, its just for daily driving. You can pick up a set of HID from a supporting vendor on this website.
here is a a link to where i got mine from.

If you want maximum light output i recommend getting 4300k or 5000k bulbs.

good luck

Thanks. Habbie, I want to slap hids in my low and fog (zkw low and projector fog) and was thinking 55 watt and 35 watt respectively. that wouldn't look look uneven would it? considering fogs aimed lower anyway...or should i go with same lumens for both?

I read somewhere that some modding had to be done to fit the bigger 55 watt into the low beam for an e36. is that right or am i mistaken?

all hids will require you to slightly modify the headlight:

sunnywala I have pictures of a recent install on my friends Camry. I will ask him tomorrow for pictures if he has any and post them up. They are extremely bright! Pics to come of 55watt apexcone kit in Camry

habbie we have the same kit but somehow yours looks a little more white, is that just the camera or does it do that after a while?

Only problem we ran into was the connecters were not correct for the positive and negatives but Chris sent extra connectors and we set it to the proper conncetions. We took some pictures the other night but they are not detailed pictures. I will host once I get them from him. Hes going to take better pics soon hopefully but his cutoff overpowers my TSX

habbie,

i bought the depo gen iv with 35w 6000k from you last year. if i switch to 55w, would i need to modify the depos to fit the 55w bulbs?

no, not at all, they will be a direct swap.

only prolumen has a direct plug n play kit h11 application, other mostly lesser kits will have you splicing a 9006 adapter to install the kit, only prolumen will provide the correct plug n play install.
is prolumen more expensive? sure, but its also light years ahead of other kits.

No splicing required. Chris provided an extra wiring that had 2 pin like ends. All I had to do was put the two pins, representing negative and positive, into two holes of a male female connector. Plug and play NO splicing needed.

These are the worst pics taken to mankind. Sorry but the pictures are horrible. I asked him to take a wall shot hopefully he does by tonight. The Camrys cutoff is way too high but when we installed it, we never aimmed it. Thats how it came from factory. As soon as I get the pictures I will post asap. They truely are brighter than my TSX retrofit output but I do have a wider range.

All cars rocking the Apexcone Race Kits 55Watt :alright
