im getting bored of my red/silver theme.. what do u think of this different look..

smoked headlights.. smoked OEM hella tails.. blacked out grill and wheels with chrome lip..

I kinda like it, Gives it that James Bond bad guy car look, rougher, meaner... You could do Black rondels and drop the euro plate / cover your license with a smoked plexi to complete the rear look.

I think if you go smoked theme, get the side mouldings painted black. Best choice for the tail lighs, IMO, is the set-up jcbe34 has where it's completely smoked. I'm not sure about those wheels being changed though.

if you decide to black it out, I would go one more step and return the moulding to black, too....possibly an M5 rear plate sill also.

looks good. i'm doing the complete blackout theme on my black 525i. i already got most of the blackout stuff done with the exception of the taillights, headlights, and rims.

my only question is, what suspension are you using?


IIRC its a mystery... but its perfect. I thought it was said to be racing dynamics at some point. I think those springs, whatever they are, have been cut (nicely) :D

Those wheels would look amazing in a dark gunmetal (hyper black?) color.

I think some new black wheels with a deep lip is all you need to make it look menacing

I agree, but I still think the black trim will break things up enough to where you wont need to do the whole black out theme, keep it subtle, black trim, black rear filler, front black kidneys...maybe even a black 540 badge. The wheels are tough, I like them as is, if Id go black though I would keep the bolts polished.

Ughh, definitely don't do the wheels. Smoked Hella lights all around would be awesome + the M5 filler plate + black trim, shadowline, and grill. It would spice things up nicely.

damn.. you guys are throwin` away mixed responses.. i shouldve poll`d this thread.. hmmm... basically i just wanna have a meaner look to the car.. im starting not to like how bright and round the headlights stand out... maybe ill just smoke them out a bit..

... if only there was a Euro grill for an the E34 that has that eyebrow effect..

I know exactly what you're talking about. I think if you smoke the front lights (corner and headlights), the car will still look mean. I don't think that you need to change everything.. just the front.. I have the same issue. Here's mine next to Romeo's smoked lenses.

ok i got it down.. im just going to smoke the inside of the lens.. ( the reflective part ) since i know someone that did it already and it looks sick on his E30..

I would leave it the way it is much prettier. Just my opinion
