It had been a long time since my last street race and the adrenaline rush feeling had faded from my memory.
I was driving home around 11:15pm on Interstate 75 when I noticed single headlights approaching. There was plenty of runing room and longing for the opportunity to race, I slowed down.
The biker soon caught up and matched my speed. I dropped it to 3rd and we drove side by side for a couple of seconds. BAM! He hammered it and immediately jumped 1 car ahead. I pursued and trailed all through 3rd. I was able to pass him early in 4th gear.
We lined up again and the outcome was the same. He was able to pull on me through 3rd but could not hold the lead in 4th gear.
-------FUNNY PART---------
After exiting I-75, i catch the first stoplight and notice the same bike approaching. Being the first in line and knowing that he would line up to my left I began the launch control sequence. Shift knob up and foot slowly depressing pedal. He finally arrives and lines up next to me. My window is slightly down and we both look at eachother through the window slit. He raises the front part of his helmet (i dont know the name) and says "Good run man". I wanted to reply with "Thanks, same to you", but I somehow could not respond. With the adrenaline and nervousness still racing through my body i could only seem to be able to give him a thumbs up. However, the hand that i raised was my right hand - the one holding down the shift knob. And so as i lifted my hand to show him my gratitude i darted forward making a spectacle of myself.
I hope he didnt think i was some ass of a bmw owner
