I'm sure you guys have been asked a million times about weight savings and stripping down a car so excuse me for being annoying. I try to give anyone who needs any info that I know as much help as I can get so I would really appreciate it.

1995 M3 Coupe with manual seats should weigh in about approx 3,350 or so right? And an authentic E36 M3 Lightweight weighs in at about 3,150 right?

The following things are definitely going:
Rear fold down seats, carpeting from behind the driver's seat to the rear, all lining, inside roof, sunroof and motors, rear spare section removed, stock exhaust(to be rep), stock wheels(to be rep)

Front seats will be removed and replaced with some lightweight Recaros. Also rear cage will be welded in. I am still not sure about a few other things including A/C, etc.

Is there anything else you guys would recommend I remove or replace that would produce significant weight savings? Or maybe a different diet?

ACS3 full fiberglass widebody is being considered, including a fiberglass hood... any idea how much weight savings I can take off from those replacements?

I'd really appreciate any help guys as I'm in the initial stages of building this car.

CF Hood and Trunk would make a difference overall... Otherwise it sounds like you want to keep the front of the car "civil"?

I'd imagine going to the widebody kit will nullify any weight savings associated with the material change.

Yeah I'm thinking both of those need to be changed because they both weigh a lot individually, I'm gonna check out some options and see what happens. I know CF replacements would be great but they would definitely need to be painted. I like the way you put it, "civil"... exactly, although there are a bunch of things I want to take out I still want it be somewhat driveable for a random drive and run.

I can imagine that it will still be lighter but just marginally... which in that case doesn't make too much sense unless the car is strictly for a specific use. Equiss is a possibility but I would rather have BMW lines only so we shall see. I'm gonna go to this widebody manufacturer that is local and see what info he can give me. He has a lot of experience with E36/E30s. I want to have a better idea of how much I can shave/$

Heres a link to a post that contains the weight of a significant number of e36 components.

You will quickly see where the weight is.

If you think you may ever want to race in a series like BMWCCA Club Racing you should be careful what you remove. An example is the spare tire well. Check out the rules.
