Dinan Twin Turbo 850i on E-Bay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-8-Series-DINAN-1991-BMW-850-i-DINAN-PACKAGE-TWIN-TURBO-V-12_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6130QQihZ007QQitemZ1 70159598268QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW)

Too bad the seller is not returning my calls. This would be a great addition to my collection.

Anyone else is welcome to contact this person. I do not have my heart set on it.

Man. This car is sick. The only thing I dont like about it is the colour.

Ditto! I hate that color!

Its a major no no.:nono

Avoid at all costs because the owner will not return any calls and he has tried to pass it off as many different cars from different locations. If you look hard enough you can find a topic earlier on this forum about it.

Actually, the car is REAL as I know the guys and the dealership that serviced it in West Palm Beach Florida (Braman). Color is rare and I think quite nice for an E31.........NOW, as to the honesty and trustworthiness of the moron who is selling it, that is still very questionable. He has advertised it multiple times, never returned phone calls or emails from REAL buyers that have the $$ and basically led the online community to distrust everything he says and does related to the car. Guys, the downside here is the moronic seller and NOT the car, it was very well serviced by BMW and had a previous pro golfer celebrity owner. How the hell you would actually get to see it, drive it or even contact the guy to buy it is anyones guess..........perhaps hire Lara Croft to lead the serach for the elusive TT E31????

Hey does yours have that neck on the throttle because I think it would be better to have an as straight as possible pipe to the throttle?

Not sure I know what you mean.........neck on the throttle?

Fatandre

Yeah. What do you mean with that?

The throttle bodies inlets point out and the intercooler lines are coming from the inside so there is a natural misalignment.

The orange boot appears to be oversized for maximum air flow in the center and flexible enough to allow for the engine to move under throttle. Probably this is the best that can be done while maximizing smooth airflow from the intercoolers.

Space is severely limited above everything in the engine compartment in the 8 so available paths for additional plumbing are beyond limited.

Ahhh.........yes, all the Dinan TT's have the silicon type angled "hump" hose reducers that connect the intercooler hard pipes to the throttle body DK motors........as Terry mentioned, this allows proper airflow, ability to "flex" under throttle and ease of maintenance..........typical of every turbo system.........

I personally would want a TT more than any other 8, Why race um when you can just blow them away? No disrespect to CSi's though, They are awesome, So awesome that it would be my trophy and I wouldn't do upgrades on it, It would retain it's original glory as long as I could remember what it is!-------:)

I would also go for a Stage 3 TT over the CSi. The CSi is great from a resale and collectibility standpoint, but I'd rather get an Alpina on that notion.

But I am a Torque Junkie. My current car will blow away an Alpina 5.7 B12 or a Hartge 6L, let alone a stock CSi by a big margin.

I just haven't had turbos since my 320-i days 14 years ago, I have a 7 second 69 camaro that gives me a torque yank all the time and this weekend at Pomona fairgrounds, You 6L guys aren't getting off of your rides and Henry is to far for me so it's a easier for me to go turbo with all respect!

I'm thinking to buy it and pull the engine out, I wonder if it has the ///M Brakes and Dinan Sway bars, This would be the ultimate 8 to part out if so, I just need the misses to say go for it, So there's no battle about it afterwards.

Why part it, I love the glacier blue color, that color is very rare.

Lets see, now if I take the money I have in the bank to put into my car and sell mine except for the rims and a couple of other parts I could buy it, and there is no misses here to dis-approve.

What stage is this one?

If I get a chance to look at the car what should I look for?

pumpedTSI

its a Stage 2..........same E31 inspection rules apply for the most part....

Why part it, I love the glacier blue color, that color is very rare. I can't stand that color in my garage, I like it for someone else, If I buy the car would you purchase it or no someone who might want it minus the engine for 6k? All i want is the engine. If it's a true Dinan it will have a nice suspension and Euro ///M Brakes etc.

Just curious, I don't want the body sitting around, I don't have space for it.

How or where do you tell the difference between stage 1-3? Through the VIN or only Dinan would know? What engine diff. between stage 1-3? My car torque is 670 at rear wheels. HP was only 440 at rear. Have been doing some testing on the fuel management and new regulators.

Holy Crap!! That is awsome. From the HP numbers, I'd say a Stage II but the Torque #s say otherwise. PumpedTsi can probably help you with this.
