Tires aren't at the wear bars yet... but they will be soon. However, I've noticed much more slipping and sliding recently even on driving dry pavement. In the wet... hydropaning has become evident.

Oddly enough it was like a one day the tires had good grip and then next day... they started slipping and sliding. No rhyme or reason... I'm guessing the tires just reached that 'point' where maximum grip was reduced to 'average'.

I noticed the same thing.. one day the grip was GONE! I got S03s for mine last week.. however onlinetires.com sent me a wrong one... so now I have to wait again....

S03's should help you out in the rain, too...

Kev, do you mind sharing how much you paid for them? I'm about to get new tires too (rears are pretty much gone, though the OEM Pilots on the front still have some tread left. )

What do you guys think about mixing brands? (i.e., I'm going to put on SO3's on the rear until the fronts wear out and then put the fronts on, or should I just switch all four at once? Seems kind of like a waste though...)

You can mix and match tires... as long as they are of comperable levels of 'stickyness'. Michelin Pilot Sports and Bridgestone S03s should be comparable. Granted, the front tires are more worn so they won't stick 'as much' as the rears. You'll probably notice more understeer... but you should be fine.

I've seen some setups where the edge of the wheel RIM looks like it's sticking out (not flush) with the tire itself. I think it kinda looks ugly. Do you know what I mean? I'm trying to figure out a good section width would be? I guess it depends on the width of the wheel itself though..

The problem you are talking about is common with the OEM tire sizes on the 19" M3 wheels. The OEM tire size is 225/40/19 (f) and 255/35/19 (r). The tires look like they are stretched onto the rim. The tire sizes I ordered should fix that problem.

i have so3s on my m3 and i got one of the first sets that tire rack had.

i hat them, they suck. traction is horrible wet and dry. going with yokohama avs sports instead

i think they changed their compound or something, cause mine are flat out crap.

Love it... really makes the interior stand out. I was going to tint the windows to help with the sun... but, it'll hide the interior. That's the only downside.

hey kev, how many miles do you have on your pilots? i have the exact same setup...trying to gauge how long these tires will last.

Pilot sports are the best. Good choice kev :)
