I recently have contemplated putting the car in storage or letting a family member drive it, but I am curious to see if there is interest in the bmw community.
It is an 86 535i 5spd, with 193,000 miles. It is Delphin Grey with a tan interior. The exterior is in decent shape, the hood clear is starting to peal on the front, and there is a small bit of rust under the drivers quarter panel ( only rust on the whole car). There are a few small scatches but without a doubt many could be buffed out. I currently have a hood bra on it (for about 1100) miles, and it has new emblems. A very clean car from 10 feet away, shines like new after a good wash. The interior is in great shape, a small bit of paint on the drivers arm rest, new coco matching floor mats, stereo works great as do all of the gauges, lights and buttons/knobs.
The engine is very strong and a real blast to drive with the 5 spd.
Tires are newer Michelins with around 2000 miles on them, also comes with style 29 wheels w/ hub rings, as well as the stock bottlecaps.
Things it needs....it has the shimmys, I have brand new upper and lower control arms in the trunk, contemplating putting them on or not....the heater 'vibrates' when on, we think something is stuck in the heater fan, but I honestly have not had time to look at it...and it has a crack in the wind shield. It passed inspection last month and was exempt from emissions, driven less than 5000 miles.
I have records from 2001 till now, since then it has had around $16,000 worth of maintenance.
I was thinking I'd like to get around $2,400 for it including a bentley manual, I may put the control arms and new fuel filter in if that encourages any buyers. The car is located in Philadelphia, in East Falls, it has been garage kept all of its life, according to both of the PO's.
