I was wondering if anyone has had their windshield in an E46 M3 replaced.

On a recent road trip coming back from Kansas a duely kicked up a rock and cracked my windshield on the passenger side lower corner. It wasn't that bad at first but now its spreading up further, its about 10 inches tall now.

I noticed there is little dots around the border like the rear window, does the replacement glass need to have these same dots for the rain sensors or defroster to work?

Also whats the deal with insurance coverage (I have Progressive) on this and where to go in DFW to get it done?

because the rain sensor is attached to it... it's probably a BMW specific repair. If you find somebody else that can do it... make sure they use OEM BMW Glass, not the PPG glass.

Chances are the dealer will contract it out..try and find out who they use (more than likely a local specialist) by busting out the yellow pages and do some research.
