Personal opinion: I wouldn't pay much more than that. Note they are Alpina STYLE wheels. They are not Alpina wheels. At 14", I think they are actually a factory wheel. I would wait for something else.

Yep, stock wheels. The true Alpinas are 16".

There were actually two types of 20 spoked wheel made for the CS coupes. One was the original true Alpina 7x14 rims that were fitted onto the CSL's and a similar styled 6x14 rims of unknowned manufacture, maybe they were of Alpina origins too that were fitted onto the 74 and later coupes. The rims pictured are not the 7x14 CSL Alpinas.

plain & simple: Stay away.
Not original + 14" = will look shitty

IMHO

This is GOOD looking (not as good as my 16" BBS though):

I picked up a set of those to use as winter wheels. Even though I try to keep it of the road in that kind of weather.

Actually it is better to keep it ON the road in any weather. :stickoutt

Some of the 7 x 14 that BMW used were also not marked as Alpina, I have a set somewhere. The later 20 spoke as were found on the e12,e23,e24,e28 was slightly different with a revised spoke design to strengthen the wheel. It looks as if the spoke has a step in it.

The 7 x 14 are still available directly from Alpina with centers, bolts and valve stems for about $950.

I have the later style with the step on each spoke. The weather I try to avoid is after the roads have been salted. I still drive when it's cold and I'm not kicking corrosive matter up in the fender wells. I'm in the process now of repairing what spots I already have in the rear well's and then under coating with bed liner. Unlike what you're doing by bringing it back to the body color. If I had no rust, that's what I'd be doing.

On a side note, it seems that with 14" wheels the car really doesn't handle that bad. On my 6(with 16" Alpina's) and sons(with 14" bottle caps), both with poly upper bushings, his is so much smoother. Mine is a bit harsh(feel every little bump thru the steering wheel), I can't wait to throw the poly's out and go with the 750 bushings. Anyone want swap arms?
