I have a 99 BMW 323is which just had an Airbag fault light. I got it checked out and they said the Right Front Seat Belt Latch needed to be replaced and it would cost ~$250 for the parts and labor. Is this possible to do myself? I've found the part online for roughly $120 but wouldn't I have to go back to the shop to get them to reset the system afterwards anyway (for a nominal fee)? They said they'd reset it for free if they did the installation at the shop so I'm wondering if it's worth just sucking up the extra cost for the convenience.
Thanks

You'll need to remove the seat to change the buckle assembly, but that's not difficult. So replacing the part is a DIY. You are correct in that someone with a diag system or SRS tool will have to clear the fault after the repair.
