I need to change the fuel filters in my 6. The maintenance manual says the main filter is in the engine compartment right above the steering column U-joint. I must be going crazy but I can't find it in mine. Also where are the other fuel filters? Thanks in advance.

Forgot to mention my motor is a swap from the same year 735. Could they have relocated the filters then?

the fuel filter in my '85 6er is underneatht eh car in front of the rear axle on the passenger side, where it is on many cars...don't recall reading anything in the Bentley manual about multiple fuel filters.

What manual are you using? Oh, wait, let me guess, it's a Chilton's?

The fuel filter (Ref #16) is next to the main fuel pump (Ref #12) in the right rear wheel well.

i just replaced both of mine -- one in the tank, one in front of the axle.

come to find out only the external pump was working :eek:
