View Full Version : 335 Bluetooth Phone Ringtone
DrivinCrazE 10-18-2007, 10:17 AM Does anyone know if there is a war to change the ringer from the high pitched annoying noise to a regular phone ring??
While on the subject, how about changing the Navi from a Man to a Woman?
dimes 10-18-2007, 10:38 AM The Navi is a man? I'm cancelling my order. I'm far more comfortable with a Woman telling me what to do. I'm pretty sure it can be changed.... :)
RBrylawski 10-18-2007, 10:47 AM Sorry, don't have iDrive, but I don't think anyone's started a "war" yet over the ring tone, though lord knows 'war's' have been created over lesser issues.............
DrivinCrazE 10-18-2007, 10:48 AM I've looked at cant figure it out. Let me clarify also... A woman gives the directions, but a man asks the Voice Command questions... i want to change that.

The car has an identity crisis! I guess car namers will be forced to use names like "Pat" instead of purely male or female voices! :lol3

"Shame on you letting a woman tell you what to do", typed the married man while responding as he types: "Yes dear, right away dear, I'm sorry" :s8n
dimes 10-18-2007, 03:47 PM I'm a lucky man. My wife taught me how to drive stick!@#
azhrei 10-18-2007, 10:52 PM I'm sorry, but shouldn't the MALE be teaching the FEMALE how to drive his stick?
(And for those of you with dirty minds: yes, I meant the manual transmission in his car. :))
julesbmw 10-18-2007, 11:39 PM i can't believe there's actually a thread to discuss the voices on the navigation system.
wait, i can - there have been threads on much more esoteric subjects!
i'm pretty sure (based on this thread, not scientific) that most men are wondering why the woman's voice is giving directions and the man asks commands , and most women don't give a crap.
but the ringtone - i can see why that would be annoying if you couldn't change it ...
neapolitan 10-18-2007, 11:41 PM Yeah, the man is kind of annoying too. He sounds wimpy "5 5 5 ... continue..." for the voice dial. They should have made it Mr. T: "what number, sucka!" and when it is busy "I pity the fool!"
Seriously though, many studies show that the least annoying "voice" for these things is a middle aged Midwestern woman. That's why the "I'm sorry, your call can not be completed... etc" and stuff like that are all women. I would much rather a nice young female brit telling me my commands...

My car doesn't have a name, but my NAV does. Gertie. As in, "DAMMIT Gertie, why the hell would you re-route me through mid-town Manhattan because of a 5 minute traffic jam on I-95?"
For those who don't have their car yet, I would highly encourage you to ignore RTTI as it is either A)wrong due to delayed updates or B)gives really bad detours most of the time.
