My SRS light has been on for my last few drives and I thought over some time it might go off, but not so much. It is on solid and does not go off or does not flash. Anyway it is a 1995 840ci and i was wondering if there were any common problems with the sensors or anything else with the SRS system, also is there anything I should try first before i dropp 100$ in for the diagnosis at the dealer. Thanks for any imput.

usually airbag/seatbelt related...........can be reset with a Peake diagnostic tool but since its safety related it should be checked out to find the problem prior to resetting......have you changed or worked on the steering wheel/airbag/seatbelt system lately?? It may be related to some recent maint work..........

I have not had the car worked on at all. It sounds like something that I shouldnt take to the dealer because their going to make me replace a sensor or something expensive when it may only need to be reset. thanks for your help.

Try and find a forum member from here or BMW Roadfly board that lives close to you and that has a Peake tool to try a reset..............if it wont reset then you have an issue someplace and it will need to go on the diagnostic machine anyways........many indy mechanics can also do the scan........
