Hey...I need someone to help me install new control arms preferably friday night or Saturday morning. I got the Meyle ones w/ the metal ball joints already pressed in. I mainly need to use the tools as all mine are in our storage container under a bunch of shit in the way back... I can pay in beer or w/e

You must really want some beer delivered.

What tools you need? I might be able to help or at least lend tools.

IIRC, you'll need some large combo wrenches, although in one particular spot only a small adjustable wrench fits. The biggest tools which you may not have are a sledgehammer and pickle forks. You can rent (for free) or borrow pickle forks from any self-respecting autoparts store.

I'd help, but with control arms they can be an incredible pain. I paid to have mine replaced for lack of time to do it personally, and it was a good thing because the euro shop I took it to had to cut them off :eyecrazy. Sorry I can't be of more help, I just thought I'd give you a heads up. Time, heat, and road salt and stuff can be terrible on parts like this!

I'd do it at my shop but we don't take beer as payment...at least not that I'm aware of. And I'm pretty sure you're underage anyways :shifty.

depends on the current condition of his car... mine took a professional mechanic 1.5hrs/side because they were rusted/corroded on. If you don't have the proper tools it'll take a long time too. Blanket statements are a good thing to avoid...

That said, if someone has the proper tools and has done them before, it shouldn't be a bad job to undertake. Having a lift always helps too. Just don't expect it to take 15 minutes a side if you've never done them before, especially if they've never been replaced.

Not saying it can't be done, just to allow plenty of time. If all else fails, you'll be able to take it for a drive or finish the case of beer you started along with the job

we did mine laying on the ground car is a 93 with 155k on the clock when we changed them out and had one side in 15mins. Really it should take no more then 1/2hr to do it. The key is to spray all parts with wd40 or liquid wrench before hand like the night before u do it and everything should go pretty smooth.

Mine had to be cut out, which made it take longer... they were frozen on like you wouldn't believe. Maybe I should have gotten in touch with you all first huh? Oh well, there will be more work in the future, always will be :)
