Occasionally I smell a burning odor coming from the vents. It smells like an electrical wire or component burning. The smell comes and goes and it is not related to the Air Conditioning being off or on. It was unbearable at one time and I was going to have to ditch the car for fear of a fire.

It is at the dealer now and the dash is mostly off but they can not duplicate the problem.

Any ideas while the dash is off?

Any similar experiences?? What did you do??

Anything?

Mine did the same thing and it ended up being the wiring to the thermostat. I was not able to figure it out until it finally shorted out and the car stopped running.
