What are the options for replacing a blown "sub" in the stock DSP system?
I don't want to do a full upgrade, just replace the broken speaker.

You could check with http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/index.php as they do sell replacement speaker for the doors, so they just might sell replacement speakers for your factory DSP sub box. If not I do have a complete set of factory DSP sub speakers setting in my garage as I replaced mine with two 10" subs + amp.

I added 1 10" sub and an amp to my DSP system but before I did that I also changed out the rear deck subs with some pioneer's. I think they are something like 5 1/2 or 5 1/4".

Mike H: There are no options for direct replacement drivers for the rear deck subwoofers. Why? They're a strange size (5.5"), and they're designed as subwoofers. There are NO subwoofers of that size that will fit in the OEM location, operate on the OEM amp, and sound anywhere close to decent. Your only option is Original BMW speakers or an aftermarket subwoofer system that totally replaces the OEM enclosure.
Naturally, we have one:

To Cashmere740iL: I would HIGHLY recommend that you simply remove the entire rear deck enclosure. The Pioneer drivers in that enclosure aren't doing anything for you, and by removing the enclosure, you'll create a massive port into the cabin for the 10" sub in your trunk. It'll sound WAY better.

Good thinking, I never even though about that...the 10" sub overpowers those 4 small subs any way so you cant even hear them...I was messing with my DSP the other day....I never changed any settings...but I hit the LD button above the one that says FLAT near the cassette deck and the bass got way deeper...I dont know what it is...havent got around to looking online yet.
