Performance clutch installed. Sachs racing pressure plate with high clamping force, MIBA clutch disk and lightweight aluminum flywheel.

B&M Short shift kit

Low mileage 3.23 LSD installed and fluids replaced with redline

Steering rack and front suspension with new bushings

X-Brace

The GOOD:
Clean interior
Recently Painted
Good tires (rears just replaced)
Crossdrilled rotors

The NOT SO GOOD:

Missing interior door panels (pics)
Missing driver side rear bumper trim, flew off on freeway or in carwash. (pics)

Pre drilled holes in trunk for RD Sport wing. Can either be filled and painted, or a wing can be installed. (Pics)

Just curious as to why it should be so low?

Because the E36 M3 price is WAY down right now, unless you have one that is rare or REALLY low mileage. This one has a fair amount of work to do, trunk repair if you do not want a spoiler, door panels, fender is f-ed so that is not going to be original anymore, the white trim...

Just curious as to why it should be so low?
because the blue book on it is about 6k. So its worth maybe 8.5 if you lucky.

you stated, recent paint job. How much was the paint job's cost?

needs work, good platform, but no where near worth 12 thousand

Cost isnt really going to matter as it was a you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. It was all taken down to bare metal, any rust repaired, then complete respray in AW III.
I'm not sure what you meant with the scratching backs saying but I was just wondering if it was a "2yr qaurantee" job or the "back to factory like" jobs.

...I'd be interested if I didn't already have one. The car does have potential and looks like there really isn't that much work needed to be done.

the engine has been rebuilt, but all in all still has 191k mi on it which also drives the price down a bit

Engine rebuilt, lower mileage trans, lower mileage diff, newer paint etc.

BTW Price Reduced

Basically he did some stuff for a friend who in turn painted the car. The car was stripped down to the metal and reworked from there. Any and all rust was repaired and the car was repainted to factory specs if not better.

devonjordan, post some recent maintenence. radiator, waterpump, thermostat, etc... should help sell your car if the potential buyer knows they would need to fix basic e36 stuff.

Good luck even getting 8k.

Look at it this way:

What if the color it was painted doesn't exactly match OEM colors? How is the new fender going to match perfectly? Did you use BMW paint?

Having the motor rebuilt adds little to no value to the car. The odometer reads 191k. Its worth the same as an M3 without a rebuild and 191k.

You're missing a trim piece. Eh, no biggy. But the fact that it is now painted and the buyer will either A) Have to get it painted and [hope] that it matches the rest of the moldings B) Have them all painted or C) Buy new moldings all around.

Missing door panels? Not cheap. This also includes the 4 little tweeters. Those things run a pretty penny. If you got an awesome deal, you're looking at $400 for a fair set of door panels.

Here's some advice. I bet you can pull $9k out of this car if you put a little effort into it. Go buy a spoiler and the trim you're missing. Go to said buddy and have him paint the Spoiler, Trim, and Fender for you. Install all of it yourself to save some cash. Go find a set of Door Panels w/ Tweeters on here and put them in the car. You're looking at putting maybe $600 more into the car [+Paint? I don't know if your friend will charge you] but you'll have a lot less of a hard time selling it, and you might even get 9k. As it stands now, feel lucky to see $7500-8k

anyone who is looking at this car and has a lot of expertise in the matter, how reliable would this car be with the rebuilt motor? 191k will worry people such as myself and i am not completely sure as to how much the rebuilt motor changes things. this info will help myself along with others looking at this car.

And about the rebuild...
You said it was re-ringed, what about the bearings?

should be 8k solid. high mileage. m3's are always a maint. hazard + theres body dmg, parts missing, and anything else that hasn't been looked at.
