Here's a description from one of my craigslist posting:
Up for sale is one of the nicest driving cars on the road, the BMW 540i sports sedan. The fit and finish on these cars is legendary and the 540i series is one of their finest. Beautifully styled, the E39 Bmw 5 series stands above the rest no matter where its parked. Beneath the graceful lines of this car sits a very powerful 282 horsepower V8 engine that also manages to get 26mpg hwy! If that was not reason enough to own this precisely engineered auto, the sports tuned suspension hugs even the tightest of curves yet shrugs off the most uneven of roads for unparalleled ride quality. Inside the cabin, you are surrounded by a carefully thought out interior using the highest quality of materials and premium sound system(including a 6 disc cd changer in the trunk). While driving, you cannot help but be impressed with the acoustics of the sound system combined with its ability to shut out outside noise.
The exterior of this BMW is in excellent shape, with the only flaw to note being a small indent on the rear passenger fender well that would certainly come out with a good PDR service. The paint is very glossy and the exterior realistically looks on par with most vehicles with only 60k miles. Just last week this car received a BRAND NEW set of 18" chrome wheels with new tires as well as a new drivers window regulator.
The interior of the car is comparable in condition to the exterior....it is in excellent shape and would be comparable to cars with almost half as many miles. No tears or wear in the seats and no damage to the dash anywhere. All electronics work perfectly and the air conditioning blows ice cold. This car is also equipped with heated seats and those work very well and are a "must have" on those cold winter mornings.
Mechanically, this car is 100% ready to drive anywhere....doesnt need a thing! The radiator and water pump appear fairly new and the radiator has a manufacture date much newer than the production of this vehicle. Brakes and shocks are all in good shape and suspension is very tight and quiet.
