I getting ready to order some splash panels for my m-tech front bumper, and I'm wondering where these "Front Bumper Impact Strips" are...

I looked under my car and I don't see where they go ('03 M-Sport).

Can someone clarify this for me? Just trying to figure out if I should order them at this point.

Parts are here:

They go on the front of the bumper. Depending on where you get your kit, they should come with it. If your getting everything from bav, then you should call them. You cant miss the strips, they are very visible and go on the front/corners of the bumper.

I have the factory M-bumper, but with busted splash guards... are the splash guards buillt-in on the factory bumper? I'll take a closer look during my lunch break, but last time I looked I really didn't see where those would mount.

No the guards are seperate. They are most likely plastic riveted or screwed on.

Ok, I looked during lunch, but I still can't figure out where they would actually go...

I took a pic with my camera phone so hopfully someone can put an arrow or something to show me where to look.. :eyecrazy

Also attached a bad picture of my car.... first one on the board (finally)

Thats a porkcop or lower cover as they call it. Thats not an impact strip.

Thanks again gumbi.

I need to replace both these (L & R), which they call Splash Panel (porkcop?):

On that same page, they also have these things, called Front "Bumper Impact Strip - (R & L ) only for M-Technic front bumper"

http://www.bavauto.com//assets/product_images/5/51112494193.jpg

This last part is what I'm not sure if I need. According to the description "only for M-Technic front.........

OK NEVERMIND..... I got it. DUH.

As I'm typing this and looking at the picture, I realized that it's the "Impact Strip" (just like they say... ) on the bumper itself...

Gosh, here I was looking at it as a part that goes on the botton of the bumper.... like a skirt of some sort.

I'm posting this for others to learn from my mistakes... that is READ the descriptions.

Thanks again.

It's all clear now! :rolleyes

I just replaced mine and they were only about $17 each for the standard ones. Easy to install but on the L/H side I added some extra screws to keep it in place.

The ones for my wifes SL are $50 for about the same amount of plastic and the bumper design is not as good so it keeps geting hooked on curbs...arg!

EDIT: I just looked at the Bav Auto link...$88 for the M-Tech bumpers. The Benz has the AMG bumpers and is expensive...

Yup, $88... I just ordered one left and one right for my car a few minutes ago. Also got the missing wheel M emblem mentioned in another post.

Free shipping though! (on orders over $150)
