I have an '01 525i and whenever I'm driving the car, under the odometer and trip odometer there's a little M and then a number. What in the hell is this? I know there's a way to cycle through that stuff on the OBC but I have no clue where it is, and I've checked the manual (I'm sure I missed it but I don't really want to spend a solid hour or more checking how to find the outside temperature instead of M xxx or whatever), but I'm also interested in what this M thing is.

Any help?

I KNEW IT! I figured it was when it SHOT UP after I filled it with half a tank, but before that it was going up :rofl I was basically running on fumes but it went from 28, to 32 by the time I got to the station!

And yeah, it's my mom's car, hence why I'm too lazy to sit on my ass reading the manual for a tiptronic 525i.

i'd assume he already had a half tank, thus another half would have filled it...
