Went on a drive recently and in the middle of it the Amber BRAKE light, Airbag, and "Trans. Failsafe Prog." message popped up at the same time.
First, the trans failsafe. My understanding is the the failsafe keeps the auto in 3rd or 4th gear, yet mine was shifting up and down normally. The only hiccup is that when down shifting from 45~ to a stoplight w/o AC on, it dips below the idle mark and jerks getting up back above the idle mark on the tachometer. However this has been happening for about 2 weeks before this incident.
Next the airbag & brake warning lights. From what I have read it seems the ABS/Traction control/brake light all seem to like popping on at the same time. I don't understand how the airbag light might be connected to the brake / trans failsafe. I did recently get in an accident (The infinity strikes back!) so my guess is a sensor or something possibly needs to be replaced. Yet the accident was over a month ago, and why it would trigger at the same time as the trans failsafe / brake light.
In the past day the brake light seems to come on and off when it wants, the trans message comes on just about every other time I start the car, and the airbag light remains solid. It might also be notable that my cruise control does not work.
