hey guys, just wondering... which kinda light bulb should i use for my low beams(h1) and my fog(also h1). i dont want to do the whole expensive kit upgrade, just change the bulbs and go. i really would like to get my foglights to be blue,,even the illegal kinda blue, and really nice low beams that give off a blue color but that are legal.

does anybody know which kind of bulbs are what im looking for...in the sense of what brand and type? and where can i get them? i saw some Luminics Pure Blue... are those pretty nice for the low beams? and about the illegal blue lights which ones whould i get? thanks in advance.

you will not get any where near blue withought going hid, especially in the fogs, and especially if u have projector headlights.
i tried like everything before i went to hids.

you can do ricer bulbs... but they will only last a month if even. APC makes some decent lasting blue white bulbs. Bright white with a hint of blue. thats about as close as you will get.

hm i see. well i dont want to invest big bucks into the hids, the car looks nice but not worth putting in that kinda money for nicer lights i guess especially after an engine swap already. but ill prolly think of something though. ;) thanks for the replies.

if you try to get blue lights without getting HID, then you are not going to be able to even see at night

but if you really want to, just go to autozone and ask those car geniuses........:cool

you wont be able to see ANYTHING with those STUPID blue halogen light bulbs. especially if its raining, say goodbye to night vision. Even blue HIDs are kinda bad.

yea i know, that why i only want the really blue ones for the foglights, and the legal white with a blue tint to it for my low beams.

That's true. If you use a halogen bulb coated in anything (like blue film), you are actually reducing the amount of light put to the ground. Even if you do decide to do them, they will only be slightly blue and then burn out after a month. Besides, if you replace them once a month for a year, you have more than paid for an HID kit. : )

hey guys, i'm new to this site. I just picked up a 2004 330CI with the zhp package.

Needless to say...bills are stacking up quickly and don't wanna go the route of putting in HID kit and voiding warranty.

from reading this thread, no HID = no blue eh? input???

You can get a slight blue color from the fake bulbs, but IMO they are a waste of money because they burn out so fast. I had a set in my M3 and they literally burned out in less than a month, and I only drove the car a few times a week.

The cost of the HID kit is one thing, but they will not void your warranty. If you have a problem, just take them back out. The only thing you will need to replace to return it to totally stock is the platic cap that covers the bulb on the back of the headlight housing. To install the HID kit you will need to drill through it, is if you want to back out the kit, the cover is the only thing you will need to replace. The dealer will be none the wiser.

i think its really going to only void your warranty if the problem is headlight related/or linked to the headlights..ect.....but dealers suck so who knows what they will pull
your other option is to buy oem from the dealer...about $1200....

or, just buy another ZHP.....i actually have never seen one without hid lights
