The time has come for me to sell my outstanding daily driver I would never sell this car if I didn't have to, but I have a new daily driver and can't have 3 cars. I have driven the E34 on numerous road trips to and from Ohio, Indiana, etc. I drive the car every weekend to and from Purdue University in Indiana (300+miles), it has NEVER, EVER LET ME DOWN. This has by far been the best, most reliable daily driver I have ever had... it takes anything you give it. That does not mean it doesn't have any problems, hence the price.
The car...
1993 525I
5 Speed Manual Trans
262K miles
M50 Vanos Motor
Mods...
- Lowered on Bilstein and Vogtland springs I believe (great ride)
- M Coupe short shift kit from Understeer
- Clear corners
- Euro ellipsoid headlights
- Gold OEM bbs wheels
- Racing Dynamics Exhaust
- Alpine in dash CD player, sounds great!
The not so good...
- Gas gauge doesn't work (I am including a new fuel sender in the sale)
- A few small spots of rust (nothing has gone through)
- A key mark on the driver side
- Crack in the front windshield (does not leak)
- Exhaust shield rattles when idling - needs to be adjusted
- No fog lights
- Front wheels need a balance (shake at 80mph only)
- Needs front sway bar links, they rattle a bit over bumps
- A/C needs a recharge (I don't use it anyways)
The maintenance...
- Had a brand new clutch put in 8k miles ago
- Regular, consistent oil changes
- New brakes (rotors and pads) right before I got it ~10k miles ago
- New, super duper sweet checkered floor mats
I bought the car in Ohio nearly a year ago. It had 25X,XXX miles when I bought it. I was pretty hesitant at first to buy a car with so many miles... but I soon learned maintenance is everything. The car has been taken care of, and it shows. It cleans up well and with regular oil changes, I would expect it to go another 200k miles (seriously). It did great last winter in the snow and starts up without hesitation every time. I get about ~26-27 mpg on the highway. The car cruises at triple digit speeds like it was meant to. Anyone at the ETK meet early this spring can attest to the fact that this thing cruises... I made it from Purdue to the Thursday meet in less than an hour and a half
$1800 takes it
