I've got an 2003 x5 4.4 with 20'' chrome 4.8 sports rims (I had them dipped). My warranty ends this month. All four of the center caps are peeling away, is this covered under my warranty since I had the rims dipped? I take my car to the pressure washer, and this could be the cause for the peeling. Either way, should I play stupid and have them replace the center caps? Can you just replace the center caps, if so any ideas where I could purchase some.

Just go to your dealer and ask them to get it replaced, if you're still under warranty. If they won't, just cop a few bucks to buy them if the peeling bothers you...those things aren't that expensive enough for you to waste your time (and money) to argue over about who should cover the replacement cost. The dipped rims shouldn't cause the problem since those center caps are removed prior to dipping. However, the pressure washer may do it. I would be careful about further using your pressure washer. Imagine what it would do to your paint job if you continue to use it...so just use the peeling center caps as an early warning sign for your paint.

Warranty should cover them... just don't mention the pressure washer.
