bought a 2004 330i, it has 205/50 17..........contiprocontact................these are touring tires which im not too happpy about, i may just leave em and wear em out tho, but do most deviate from the stock size on a 17" rim? seems a tad wider would look better, jmo, so i was wondering

If you want. You can go 215/45/R17. Anything bigger will be touble for your car

fastest way to wear out tires. Massive burnouts and donuts.

How wide are the stock 17's.... I know the 18's that came on mine are 8.5 and are running a 225/40zr18 tire, so I'm guessing maybe around 7.5"?

Also I'm guessing your looking for a performance tire as well, instead of the touring? If your looking for a recommendation, I like the BF Goodrich g-Force series. They were on the car when i bought it, around 32,xxx miles, and now I'm up to 83,xxx miles and they still have 3/23nds of tread left. Just about to put on a new set of Fuzion ZRI's on, just to try something different.

5mm won't do much for the speedo, don't worry about it. I'm running 245s right now and the stock tire size was 225

I just read in consumer reports yesterday the g-Force were one of their lower rated tires, just because they were so loud. How did they run for you?
