I took my car to get washed today and after I left the shop I was driving and I got the error BRAKE ASSIST INACT. ... SEE OWNER'S MANUAL. I don't have an owner's manual unfortunately. haha. And have no idea what this is. Also when I turn the wheels it goes away momentarily. any ideas? Thanks guys.

no i don't think so, but i think it has something to do with the master cylinder i had replaced. i haven't noticed anything while driving though.
if it's intermittent, it could be down to a sensor getting wet

Brake assist pressure and the power steering come from the same pump.
Check the belts.
Did they wash anything in the engine compartment or have a bottom of the car sprayer? I may be just a wet belt slipping.
If the warning persists and the Pentosin level is correct check the belt tensioners--they lose tension over time.

yeah it was water in the senors it turns out. The problem went away this morning when I started it. Thank god. haha. This car has been in and out of the shops for various things over the past month. But now it's near perfect.

that's the downside of washing cars thoroughly. They look nice afterwards but might do some strange things to you :)
