View Full Version : X3 a great car?
xpnstos77 10-12-2007, 12:03 AM My wife has an X3 and I love it. I drive it all the time. Its got decent power, rides so great, just like a car, gets through any snow.
On youtube Top Gear said the car sucked. Cheaply made, handles terrible and cant be driven off road.
I dont think it is cheaply made, love the interior, roomy for a 3 and its comfortable.
Does anyone think the car sucks? I dont and love mine.
The only thing that I dont like, is the shadowline trim, so we got the aerodynamics package. The car came to 43,000. I dont think it is over prices. My 335 came to 46,000. A car is a good car!
mfitch3 10-12-2007, 08:53 AM I have a 07 X3 and love it. Its got 27,000 miles and its been a perfect car. The safety technologies are great for my wife, and she loves the performance. I do feel its a bit expensive, but the full maintenance and great dealer support make it worth it in the end.

SilverBeam 10-12-2007, 11:39 PM Ours is so great, you can actually read about it in the September Roundel! It's a great car. We've driven it 40,000 miles in 2 years and have loved every minute of it. The car has been on numerous roadtrips, it has seen snow, it has seen dirt, it has seen sand, always it carries on through. We couldnt' ask for a better SUV. When the lease is up, my sister will probably buy it out and my parents will probably get a new one. The car is a lease through the company.

HwyRogue 10-14-2007, 11:03 PM hm... I've looked and have not found ANY safety ratings for the X3 - 2004 and up...
I'm trying to convince my wife to trade our 2005 Pilot EX-L into an 2005/6 X3 and since we're both extremely safety minded (main vehicle, two small kids) safety is priority #1....
Does anyone have any sites?
Thanks!
xpnstos77 10-14-2007, 11:09 PM My wife had a Mazda before this I forget wich one. Small one. It was cheaper to insure the X3 because of the safety ratings.

If safety is your number 1 priority get a station wagon. SUVs are 10% more likely to be involved in a crash. However, the main reason for this is because they don't stop as fast or handle as well, leading to more rear end collisions and roll overs. The X3 is a steller vehicle in both aspects.
I teach a car control clinic to teens on the weekends, and X3s do very well, better than any other SUV there. They are just amazing. Judy, the owner of the company and a professional race car driver, has taken two out just to prove to parents how great they are.
I do not have any videos of my X3 going through the course, even though it has. but here is one I found on youtube of similar program:

as you can see, the X3 does VERY well.

I'm impressed. Any idea how an X5 does on a course like that?

do great too, we had a kid in a brand new 3.0is there two months ago, you simply cannot fault the BMW SUV in handling.
