View Full Version : Re-update (pics)
Analog 10-09-2007, 07:49 PM Well I painted my rims a satin black with gloss clearcoat. I need to do one more coat of clear on it to get the shine I want, and also need to put on the center caps, and //M badge thingies.
But I personally like it.
Lowering springs, M5 spring pads, euro trim, VHT tails and lip spoiler are next.
*Possibly* may attempt a black roof.
Still contemplateing on that though! :)
Sorry for the blurriness. Cheap camera.

Still need to mold the ducts into the bumper. Or create a lower lip to fill in the gap:

Maintenance FTW.
Anyone know how to clear my OBC? I have replaced every bulb on the read end....

And I agree, I will finish the shadowline when I match my calipers.

Thanks for the input! I am getting alot of mixed reviews on them. But I really like them.

That's all that matters. You're modding to please yourself ... others liking it is just an added bonus.
:buttrock Rock on!
E34nication 10-09-2007, 08:34 PM I dig it... much better than before. with the rest of the shadowline will really look mean.
CleanE34 10-09-2007, 08:40 PM amazing. can't wait for my rims to get painted. i also got the E39 M5s. i'm probably painting my chrome trim this week. i just got my grill trim painted black. i guess now i know what M5s in black look like.
MPD47 10-09-2007, 08:44 PM Those are some of the worst photos I've ever seen.

Thanks alot! If you do decide to paint your rims black, I would highly reccomend that you thoroughly sand them down. I used satin black on mine. They looked terrible before the clear coat. But after they look real mean.

matt535 10-09-2007, 08:49 PM very clean car mate. but personally, i prefered it originally. maybe i will like them more with the second coat of clear. but very nice ride
atl530i 10-09-2007, 09:17 PM The car looks great. Some pics that aren't blurry would be great :) :) :)

I'll work on that when I get everything finished painting. But these were just to show how things were coming along.
Also what is yalls opinion on the calipers?
E34nication 10-09-2007, 10:13 PM black calipers... i have never seen the point in showing off stock brakes.
Analog 10-09-2007, 10:18 PM Truth. I don't really want to go with black.
But I don't want to be a brembo wannabe with red calipers.
E34nication 10-09-2007, 10:19 PM If you don't want to go with black the only other colors I would do would be a dark grey or silver.

Silver seems to be the best option. Thanks
E34nication 10-09-2007, 10:26 PM Silver will probably look pretty good.
ohnoes 10-09-2007, 10:28 PM Your car needs a drop in front...bad. I think the new color really brought that out. Other than that, nice.
J.Bimmer 10-09-2007, 11:30 PM I think it looks great from what i can see.
hoboclown918 10-09-2007, 11:35 PM If only our cars will last till September 5th 2098....

Agreed. I'm trying to source some lowtec springs at the moment.
I think it looks great from what i can see.
Thanks. I looked at your sig, and for a moment I thought that clothles line post was your spoiler :)
If only our cars will last till September 5th 2098....
haha. I don't think my sister will ever figure out how to set the date lol.
Just turn the date off
I have deep gold calipers which I think look amazing. IMO, they'd look nice on your color scheme.
J.Bimmer 10-10-2007, 04:11 PM Thanks. I looked at your sig, and for a moment I thought that clothles line post was your spoiler :)
Haha, i'll have to fix that one of these days.
