The Bilstein BTS Suspension components provide a dramatic increase in your vehicle's performance handling characteristics. The BTS consists of 4 coil springs with a performance directed spring rate and Bilstein's patented monotube gas pressure shock absorbers.

The sport level valving is specifically tuned for your specific vehicle. The BTS system provides a lower stance and a firmer ride for better road handling and control. This is the most economical way to vastly improve your car's performance and appearance.

Has anyone tried this setup yet? I'm having trouble finding out much info. The BTS is very popular in Japan, but the part numbers are different from the ones here. It seems that there's only one E36 BTS kit here, so I'm guessing it'll ride too high for my 318is. Any comments? Thanks.

Does anyone have the BTS kit on their 318???e36???

I want to get this kit, but how much does it lower the car. I plan on getting 18's or 17's.

Thanks
John

Does anyone know how the BTS compares to the H&K cup kit? Is the car lowered as much and how is the ride comfort?

Thanks

I have the BTS on my 318is. The front definitely rides on the high side, not even as low as the sport suspension on the 325/328. I haven't had a chance to do a webpage on this yet (my previous suspension was the PSS-9s which were too serious for the Detroit streets), but I have some raw "data" here for now: http://www.harrisbernice.com/hccyong/cars/suspension_pics/Bilstein_BTS. Heights are from fender lip to bottom lip of 16" wheel. I'll need to make adjustments to get it back to wheel center. As I could not lower the front anymore, I raised the rear up a bit with spring pads (stacked 7mm pad with 5mm pad). Ride is very good. Almost too good, coming from coilovers. I find that the rear needs more rebound damping though, both in terms of lift throttle behavior and also going over sharp dips/dropoffs on the road. According to Bilstein, the BTS spring rates are 135-164 lb/in at the front and 365 lb/in at the rear.

You could probably just get Bilstein shocks (if you like Bilstein) and H&R springs, Eibach springs, etc.

I think the bts setup includes hand r sport springs. I have that setup but it rubs when you have 18's.

The springs may be made by H&R, but they have different rates from the ones sold as "H&R Sport."
