You should turbo your van and drift that instead.

:lol

chip or MAF.. that's about it...probably won't get what you want out of it.

Seriously, no cheap way.. you need turbo

don't drift a bimmer. its not right. use a cheap 240 or something. if you mess up on the bimmer it'll cost you more than a 240 to fix.

Turbo....the 535i will love it! Don't forget to upgrade your suspension either!

Just know that with drifting, you WILL tear apart the car...literally. It is very common in drifting to replace doors, fenders, bumps and such all the time because they are constantly being bumped into and torn apart, which is why so many prefer to use a S14 (240sx) because they are so cheap.

Then get a corolla or sumin. E34 can get out from under you pretty fast when drifting. You want a light weight car with solid everything in the suspension

gt coupe corolla are just as dear. only other option would be a 325

i think you should put an engine in2, it saw off the doors and add a spoon to the fuel rails for extra flow!
but make sure with the 535 you have stabilisers

wow drifting a e34. These things are sooooo heavy for drifting. It would be not funny easy to kill yourself. Seriously, you're gonna do more damage than the car is worth.

But, that said, if youve got the money, id would be really cool to see an e34 in drift comps. Try a MAF kit (comes with proprietary perf chip) and an LSD and turbo. Not cheep; but when added with the right tire setup, you should be sliding like on ice

Drifting my E34 takes a lot of concentration; more often than not the rear end usually snaps loose rather than gently breaking away..forcing me to do way more counter-steering to get it straightened back out. Drifting my 300E is a piece of cake. I can hang the tail out and keep it there at will.

E34s are not easy cars to drift. i've had a bit of fun with mine on the roads but never on a track. powersliding is quite easy, but actually lighting up the rear wheels can take a lot of practice and concentration. they are fairly heavy cars, and when they start sliding, they are not easy to control. i've lost it more than once being a smart ass on the road. they dont gently ease into a drift, they just snap and before you can even start to correct, you're facing the wrong way.

good luck with it though. as for mods, definately chip and MAF

take a look at other e34 drifters to see what you'll be needing. they either have big turbos, v12 conversions with turbos (dumb), or a completely rebuilt motor with huge turbos (search vsmotors)

so basically, it'll be big bucks for the setup, then big bucks to keep it running after every session. If I was looking into drifting and just bought a 5, I'd start looking for other cars.
