Literally. I have all these parts coming in, but don't have anywhere to do the work. I need a lift to get the car up off the ground far enough to get a transmission out and in, and some springs and such put on.

Anyone know where I could get access to a lift or a pit? I'm flexible in my hours, but I'd really like to get some work done this week, if at all possible.

Jack stands give enough room to get a tranny in and out. Did my clutch swap with two jacks and 4 jackstands.

+1 Jackstands work fine, esp if you have a decent surface (floor as opposed to gravel). I don't think I would really want it any higher doing trans stuff anyway, just farther you have to lift it and faster it'll be going when you drop it and it falls on an unsuspecting piece of your anatomy...

I could do it with jackstands, yes, but living in an apartment, I don't really have a place to do the work.

I should have all the parts in tomorrow, waiting on a master cylinder and some pressure plate bolts.

The 318ti is still up for sale, should anyone want it. This is for the project car.

Something German, old, and it makes funny noises. If you were helping me work on it, you'd already know. ;)

Anyway, there's a lack of places for me to work on my car, in general.
