Hi, lets say your CF hood looks like this....

How would you bring it back to life without painting it ? can CF be polished ? That pic was taken from another thread, but I have a CF LTW wing that has some parts looking like that....

I don't know if you can use it on something that is that far gone, but bike shops use Plexus plastic polish on their carbon fiber frame bikes. But having never used it myself, I can't vouch for how well it polishes out.

I would check with the manufacturer of the carbon fiber product and see what they recommend using. Most CF has a clear coat on it. The PLEXUS is a great product to use to clean and protect the CF. Polishing out CF I would try using a mild abrasive Pre-cleaner with a Dual Action Polisher PC-7424.

I would treat it as Id treat any painted surface on your car.. aFter all, all youre touching is the clearcoat anyway, and since most CF hoods are clearcoated, I dont see why polishing it would be any different than polishing any other painted surface on your car.
