Both are autos. Question is if the stock e36 M3 would be faster than the 330i (mine) with Dinan cold air, TB, Stg III s/w, exhaust, transmission s/w?

Isn't the m3 lighter than the 330i?

An E36 M3 Vert will weigh about the same as a 330Ci (Coupe, non-vert) I'd imagine. But if your car is an auto and his is a stick, he'll still have the edge, even with your mods.

Both are autos and the m3 is stock. Will I have the edge?

do the math...weight is about the same if not more weight for you....he has a bunch of performance mods...including tranny software for faster shifts at higher rpm.....also his engine has double vanos for improved low end torque....what do you think???

Hold on, the M3 cabrio weighs more than the 330i. It's almost 400 lbs. heavier than the coupe. Plus it's an auto. You're talking about the E36 M3 in its absolute slowest form. The 330i for sure. :D

I've raced a 330 before. It's all even up to about 60mph. After that, my black canvas parachute deploys and causes enough drag so the 330 can start pulling away. :mad::embarrasm



Maybe next time I should keep my top down. :)

I've beaten 330ci coupe manual, auto ..and 330 convertible..
but 6sp euro 3.2L different story eh..
