OK so I placed my order for 4 tires on Tuesday the 18th. They process my order and ship them out from Lousianna on the 19th. I chose to have them shipped using Fedex 2 day. When I went online to check the status of the shipment, they sent 2 of my tires to Memphis, Tenn??? Now Lousianna is right next to Texas, why would anyone ship away from Texas when they are due in front of my door step in 2 days? :95

Maybe because Memphis is a huge FedEx hub? I just looked at mine (ordered/shipped yesterday) and they did the same thing for all 4 tires.

I don't give a crap if they ship them to California as long as they are here on Monday. That is FedEx's problem.

FedEx and TireRack have never let me down on tire delivery... so I don't even worry about it.

Plus, for $.10 more I get the tires in 2 days vs. UPS Ground shipping which can take 5 days. Go figure.

That is how Fedex (used to anyway) work. Even if your overnight letter was going down the street, it went through Memphis. Now that Fedex is doing larger stuff, I am not sure that this model strictly applies as it used to. Sounds like it still does though :)

OK I just checked and looks like both packages arrived in the city next to me. I was just worried that I wouldn't get my tires today cus I didn't opt to get the Saturday delievery. Thanks for clearing up the Memphis issue!

Ditto here. I actually live 3 hours south of Shreveport, but the tires went through Memphis anyway. One tip I learned last time was to have the tires shipped to the place your going to have them installed at. Most Installation places (I use Delta tire World) are on Tire Rack account and will accept your shipment. saves the hassle of toteing them around!
