I know of some potential poosibilities if it was the front. But I had both my rear tires off and the rear driver side is definetly worn way more than the other. It is even wear throughtout the tread, is it just from cornering fast?
I have H&R sport and bilstein shocks.
I think the shocks are pretty bad, RTAB?
Need help cant affford new tires!!!!

happens all the time on my 540i ... since the car doesn't have a limited slip diff... 95% of the time, all the power gets put to the passenger side rear wheel causing that tire to wear much much faster.
Now if you see an odd pattern on the tire... cupping, extreme inner wear, extreme outter wear, then that could be a sign of suspension and/or alignment troubles.

Thanks Kevlar, I would suspect that as the problem, but it is the driver SIDE (left) tire, not the drive-wheel.

Do you see any pattern with the tire wear? outter edges, center, a gatorback feel/pattern?

My car has the same problem with the passenger side rear tire. It wore down extremely fast compared to the other tires. I assumed that I had some worn RTABs and installed some new ones last weekend, but the old ones weren't in that bad of shape. After I put everything back together, I noticed that the worn tire was pointing inward more than the driver side. I put a 4' long level against the outside face of the tire parallel to the ground. On the drivers side, I measured 5/8" from the straight edge to the side of the body. On the passenger side, I measured only 3/8". This indicates to me that I have significantly more toe-in on the passenger side rear wheel which is what is causing the rapid wear. Looking closely at the wear pattern on the tire, I can see more wear on the edges indicating excessive toe. I'm going to adjust the alignment (toe) myselft to match both rear tires, then I'm going to take it to an alignment shop and get it done right.
