This is the third time I've had problems with the windows. I am tired of taking it to ther dealer and giving them $$$$$. It's my wife's 2001 X5. The window (front passenger side) will not roll up. There is power to it and I can hear it try to go up, but it seems "stuck". Today, I took at all apart (THANKS to X5world.com for the great instructions) and was able to fix it. Then later in the day, same thing happened. It seems like it may be rolling down too far and then unable to roll back up (like it is binding or something?). Anyone have this problem and have advice on a fix. I really don't want to disassemble the door every few days to fix this..... THANKS for your exeriences and advice.

Window regulators. Had that problem with all 4 windows when I had my X5. Just replace the whole thing.

Any advise out there on where to purchase a Window Regulator for my 2005 X5?

Or it can be the plastic clip that holds the glass to the metal frame that goes up and down. It's a $2 part from the dealer. Go to X5 world and look for window regulator replacement, it'll show you how to take your door apart. Much better than paying the dealer 2hrs of labor for something you can do in 45min.

Anyone have a part number for the plastic clip? I've had this door apart twice and really can't see what the problem is. It's almost as if it is just rolling down too far, then cannot come back up. Both times I took the door apart, then "helped" get the window into the up position, then is seems to work normal...for awhile. Then out of no where, it sticks in the down position again. Just trying to confirm what the problem is before ordering parts...

Thanks!

Same thing on mine, it's a little circle hole in the glass that the clip goes in. The hole should line up by the metal frame. Look for a 8mm( iirc) bolt, that goes thru the clip, it makes the back end of the clip spread out to hold the glass up. Ask the service department, tell them you need the plastic clip that holds the glass up. They should know exactly what your talking about.

It goes behind the bolt that is shown between pics 9 and 10 on this
