The first one looks like a leaky fuel hose fire.

The hoses on the early V12's are old enough to weep when cold. That makes a gas smell but you can not find the leak. Sooner or later it goes poof and the fire department pries the hood open like that to put the fire out.

i do have one that i am parting out now, i got it from california too. it is a 97 840ci, hit on the right side. I've already sold almost all the parts on the front end, but not any mechanical stuff and i still have all the parts on the rest. email me and let me know what you need.

that burned up one has all the panels (but not the hood) in good condition. all the parts on the rear end are good on both of them.you have no clue how expensive these parts here in usa. the fender is almost $700a good door $900 hood the same ....etc.

That's why I replaced them with Earl's Steel braided lines on 90% of the fuel lines under the hood, I've seen them like that in auctions as well.

by the way, what are these rims on the burned up one originaly for? a 2006 645?

I'd be interested in the headlamp adjusters of they are still there....all of 'em. The mounting parts.

I have a complete front clip with everything if anyone needs are parts. And by the way I have the complete doors as well... not sure what to do with them..lol

great if you can get the parts you need from it. You may not believe it, but the E31 parts aren't cheap in Germany either because of 19% VAT. Lots of parts are even cheaper in the US. I know this because I sometimes ship parts to Australia to a friend who normally buys them in the US - only RHD specific parts he can't get there and has to come to me for them or get them for even higher prices in OZ.
Parts prices are one reason why I decided to go for an E24 instead of an E31. BTW an E24 fender is Euro 700,- from the stealer in Germany, so not a real cheap car either.
