i keep hearing that boosting an s52 can be risky because of the thinner cylinder walls when compared to the s50..how much of an issue is this?

im planning on doing technique tuning stage 2 turbo and i am just wondering if i will have to build up the internals (a cost that if i can avoid it, id like to)
i contacted nick g and he said it should be ok, its not a necessity that internals are built to put out of amount of power stage 2 puts out...but i also want to keep the car reliable/capable of having FI for a long time w/out any break downs..

do you guys have experience with this kit/running stock internals? how did it do?

thanks for the help

smart decision you will not have to build up the motor. the kit is minto pinto bolt on enjoy the car for long time. the kit it meant to work with stock internals. id recomend conducting a lead down test before boost and pending those results resolving any issues.
and try not to insult nick g....he could tune a car that is sleeved with .250" gap between cylinders to 25 psi for 100,000 miles so the difference between s50 and s52 cylinder walls becomes negligible now.

Do a leakdown test and compression test to verify that your motor is in good condition.

WIth a TT stage 2 kit you have nothing to worry about with the thin cyl walls on the S52.

I plan to push over 600whp on my "thin walled" S52.

you think nick g could do make software for a 328i to run a m3 technique tuning turbo kit stage one with new camshafts injectors intakes exhaust etc?

Why not ask him? To the O/P, I have been running my setup with no issues from my "thin walled" S52. Your going to love the TT kit, Nick has the best software in the business, I know, I have it:buttrock:redspot:D:alright! You will not make a mistake with purchasing that kit, goodluck.

basically george's m coupe is doing the same, and SO FAR at least seems ok

interested in seeing how long that lasts, as well as the dif mount :)

I was supposed to go back this past summer and have it dynoed at ICS, but being a NYC Cop doesn't allow for the best schedules, very busy with the overtime! However, the setting has been @11 PSI for the longest and it breaks loose in 1st and 2nd gears! I have been so happy with the current setting that I have never felt the need to up the boost! I can't speculate on the RWHP but will post the dyno run ASAP when completed.
