LBMotoring 10-06-2007, 03:39 PM I also just recently got like my 2nd ticket ever for a roll through a right hand turn at a stop sign.... really weak anyways, my buddy got a ticket a while back, and did a online traffic school, it took him an hour, and was only like 20 bucks. http://www.goodbyticket.com/ I will be doing it shortly, hook it up with the info if you guys do it! 328i e46 10-06-2007, 03:43 PM yeah im gonna do traffic school but I now can't get another tix for a over a year because I wont be able to get traffic school and my insurance with def go up:( jamesdc4 10-06-2007, 03:47 PM Sorry to hear that! Huge bummer. :thinkerg I think this country is long overdue for an extra, high-speed lane just for 5ers (I think it should be for all BMWs, but I had to say that to keep this thread on topic). e39dream 10-06-2007, 04:32 PM I'd pay money annually for that 5er lane. Today is a GREAT day to run some errands in the e39. Saw a lot of nice cars, bikes and pretty ladies while I was out today. I don't want it to get cold. :( Bimmer606 10-06-2007, 05:12 PM Tickets suck!!! Luckily I've only gotten 2 speeding tickets, both dismissed!!!! The other 40 times I've been stopped, they've let me off the hook!!! :) 98 540i 6 speed 10-06-2007, 05:40 PM I've never gotten a ticket in my own car. I've been pulled over about 8 times in my 540 in the last 2 1/2 years and twice I thought I was going to be handed a massive ticket. Those two times I flat out lied. The first time I came up with a quick story about me having coloitis {sp} it's a bowel disease I think. I told the cop I was running around all day for my boss and haven't had any time to "deal with it". He didn't even look at my license, he just tossed it through the window and said "I have a friend who suffers from that, try not to put yourself in that position again." He was about 45. The second time I made up a stupid story about how my tire was going flat and I had to make it over the hill so I could coast to the dealer who was right around the corner. I was doing double the speed limit and he let me go. It wasn't a total lie though, I was working at the BMW dealership at the time. Since then I've really curbed my speeding. bake0109 10-06-2007, 07:44 PM Tickets especially suck in Texas. Defensive driving courses have to take at least 6 hours and cost a minimum of 25 dollars. And now, if you get ticketed going over 95, there is no way to take it off your record. And being under 18, I have to go to court. Only gotten one speeding ticket though, and not even in the Bimmer. casca 10-06-2007, 11:14 PM Last time I got pulled over it was for a warning on the turnpike, doing 78 in a 75. F*&$ing moron cops. My wife has a Prius, she's had like 5 speeding/rolling stopsign tickets in the last year. I thought getting her the hybrid would slow her down... BimmerFr3aK 10-07-2007, 03:33 AM haha www.ticketassassin.com is your friend smith3081 10-14-2007, 12:53 AM Hi everyone. I’m a new member and will set up my profile soon…. But I have to share this. On I70 just west of Limon, CO I decided to open up the 5er. The roads were clear and the radar was silent. 100 rpm from redline in 5th gear (steptronic), the radar blew up. Busted! I stood on the brakes at 160 mph. I don’t ever recommend trying this, oh wait, it’s a bmw, try this. I could have let go of the wheel and this thing would have held its line. It threw my passenger and myself into the locked seatbelt. Amazing experience. After reaching 70mph, I checked the mirror and saw the cop flip on his lights, turn around, and head my direction (he was cruising the opposite direction and rounded and hill the same time I did). I pulled over and waited for the cops to catch up. I know I know, but I did the right thing. The officer locked me in on his radar at 134mph, again at 105mph, and again at 78mph. All within a matter of seconds he said. After being arrested for reckless endangerment, my passenger and good friend followed us in the 5er and got me out in 40 min. I was charged with speeding and reckless endangerment, 12pts and 12pts. It only takes 12pts to loose your license in CO. Long story short, I took it to court with a hotshot attorney and had it reduced to a non-moving violation (2pt). The only reason I got away so clean was due to my good behavior during this incident; the officer testified that I had pulled over and waited for him. Also, the attorney that I hired (which I have never met prior to this) mentioned to the court “that if there was a car to be doing this speed, this is the car. I know because I drove my 530i to this court house today.” Sweeeeeeeeet! No wonder he was willing to help me, that and the $1500 I paid him. Soon I plan to scan the ticket and post it. Got to take it out of the frame and get the personals off first. Hope you enjoyed. smith3081 10-14-2007, 01:00 AM +1 on the 5er lane How much would you pay anualy? I would be willing to sell a kidney. RickSloan 10-14-2007, 01:12 AM forget a 5er lane... BMW needs dedicated twisties! jamesdc4 10-14-2007, 01:15 AM Hi everyone. Also, your lawyer was 100% right. BMWs are the best and safest car for that speed. Be more careful in the future. Have fun!!!:alrightbmw |
