Tuff Guy 10-06-2007, 03:45 AM numbers?
Jackoosh 10-06-2007, 03:59 AM so your car is as fast as M50 now?
nuvola rossa 10-06-2007, 04:00 AM Hi bigbore and bro, it's great to see your car after a lot of time... I have your all pictures saved in a folder under 318turbo folder :)
I like it, is more clean now. But I have a couple of questions:
1) I see that turbo now is higher than before. It's another manifold? there were space issues with the turbo so high?
2) where you taken coolant line from? they run from throttle body heater?
3) how much is boost now? :)
4) downpipe is 3" or 2,5"?
5) spool and boost threshold are lower now with this setup?
6) do you remember internal diameter of crankcase cone filter?
hope that car will run better, now!
thank you
jekaio 10-06-2007, 08:14 AM awesome m42!
M52 POWER! 10-06-2007, 11:56 AM Nice. How does it run? What are you using for tuning? WHat kinda power does it make/you plan?

highboostingm3 10-10-2007, 01:51 PM A lot of 318 guys need to know answers! Great custom setup! Tuning is our biggest curiousty.

Bigbores Bro 10-10-2007, 05:04 PM 1st I cannot copy and or paste any replies or anything??
numbers?
have none! other then i can attest to raping E46's with the old setup.
Bigbores Bro 10-10-2007, 05:06 PM so your car is as fast as M50 now?
hmm
it may be even Slower then a m50!
but its ok my penis is large enough to make up for it..
on that note why even bother Fi'n a m50? it's still slower then a gt3 or insert whatever

1) yes another new custom fab'd mani..
few issues a sheet metal tray had to be cut out..washer jug is now plumbed to my Trunk!
2) pretty sure the throt body heater is capped off on the throt body, so yeah maybe?
3) currently less.. dude put in stock ngk's & i was getting some missfire's/ stuttering at 7.7+ lbs (bummed)
but i had ngk irridium before..so maybe that will help cause coils are like new
and i was running 9lbs no problems on Stock ecu.
4) dp is 3" maybe larger even ...noticed a shift in my tq band with the larger dp.. its higher up..
i enjoyed the previous light to light 'torqyness' of my old dp which was the stock dp hacked up.
5) if by threshold you mean when it comes on (spools)? no its higher with the larger diameter piping..
something to consider! I used to kick in hard at like 2300 rpm's
engine rebuild & a 50,000ths shaved piston(s) later (1 point lower comp) and it was spooling at 2600rpm's ..
now its kicking in at like 33/3400 rpms. so just need to get used to it.
6) sorry i do not..
also have to say my opinions may change as the Turbo blew up on day6
and is now being replaced...
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=846363
so it may have been 'under performing'.
think it vibrated to death actually: listen

Bigbores Bro 10-10-2007, 05:31 PM Nice. How does it run? What are you using for tuning? WHat kinda power does it make/you plan?
with both the old setup & new im using the stock motronics (ecu)
have no idea as i've never dyno'd it, agian though I raped e46's
all i have is a SDS eic dual injector controller..
it placed a map in the intake mani..
the sds's ecu sense's boost starts injecting extra gas via 2 extra injectors plummed into the intake piping..
not the Best solution but cheap & it works.. fuel atomizes nicely.
plan eventually to do 1 bar plus, but it was never being about the 'fastest'
I paid $4K cdn for this car 3 years ago. it was about cheap awesome handling Fun!
kaliE36 10-11-2007, 03:30 AM you still have the stock lambda in place ? if yes, that means the engine will run lean at PT, and you will be able to safely boost'em only at WOT thought ... did you check the afr all over the rpm range ?
about extrainjectors controller: take a look to this - http://www.034motorsport.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_46&products_id=71

yeah stock 02 ....yes afr's are fine.
the controller i have has a map & processor, it is not mechanical.
it starts adding gas in vacume the (-2 .. -3lbs) way i have it set..
-2 being very close to + lbs of boost, theres already gas a going when the +lbs kick in.
Any comments on the night videos (few up)? pretty friken loud (in a bad way) huh?
