Just wanted to say hello. My name is Tom from Gum Spring, Va (between Richmond and Charlottesville) I have been lurking for a good while and finally made the leap 2 weeks ago. I'm the new daddy of an '04 330i in white, wrapped in the sport package from the Charlottesville dealership with the BMW certified sticker on it. Seems pretty solid so far. Still needs a little cosmetic work on some nasty stone chips up front.

I'm an old BMW enthusiast having owned 3 BMW's prior to the invention of the internet. I've had '69 and '76 2002's and the first car purchaced for my oldest son was an '83 320i. So, after raising my kids to a reasonable age and driving minivan's for the past 20 years......I'm back!

I've been active with the Toyota MR2 community for the past few years having replaced the 320i with a 93 MR2 Turbo for my son. Been to a lot of good meets around central Va. with the MR2 and VaDriven people. I'm looking forward to getting to know my car and the BMW community better. I'll post some pics of the 330i as soon as I get the stone chips repaired.

One question. I'm considering some protection for the front end. I've looked at the clear bra. Anyone have any experience with this stuff on a white paint? Does it yellow? Does it do the job? Or should I just go with the Black cover?

Gum Spring is dead halfway between Richmond and Charlottesville VA. , in beautiful Goochland County. I've never heard of Gum Spring Rd.
