I have 6 PA license plates that are from cars that I've owned at one point or another. is there a website that I can use to see which of my PA plates are still valid?

Try the renewal site, it won't let you renew a plate that isn't valid I would think :dunno

thanks for the link, I checked it out earlier but couldn't find anything showing me if the plate was still valid or not. I'm trying to use some of the plates to register a few cars that I own that are currently not registered. rather then buying new plates, I'd like to use some of these.

i think they are only good for one year if not renewed

as crazy as PA is, i am sure you can renew any plate that you have if it was registered to you in the past

Ron, do they actually charge you for the plates vs. registration? I'm asking, you'd think I know w/the car run rate I have :dunno

you could use any of your plates as long as there not the old blue with yellow lettering all you do is got to a notary place near you and renew your registation or register that tag to a new car if the registration isnt up on the tag just transfer it they will do that for you also

There is a charge, it's not much ($15-20?)but I have a stack of plates and rather then make a mailbox out of them, I wanted to throw them on 4 cars that I recently acquired. When you add them up that way, it's a decent savings of around $60+ for the four cars.

I don't have any of the paper registrations for them anymore.

I just wish I had known that they were going to discontinue the black DARE plates...I would have stocked up. :stickoutt

simply take the plate you wana use into the notary and say hi i wana put this plate on my car its registation is up though the say ok whats the plates numbers (or letters) and the car ist going on's info and your proof of insurance then the will do there magic i dono lol computer magic and say ok here is your new owners card and sticker have a great day the price is what it your anual renewal cost is.. special plates such as your dare may be a lil more for a regular plate its 36 buck then they will charge like 10-15 dollars for service usally what it runs but yes you can take any plate as long as its not reported as stolen your good to go its very simple all the need is your tag id ive had mine reinstated before without the old owners card
