OK i got a REAL good deal going. I have a 99 323iA with 103k miles, premium package, tan leather, hk package, ferngreen metallic, dual powerseats. Now theres this 00 323I 5 spedd with 105 k miles, sport package, no hk package, no premium package. And the guy might be willing for an even trade. What do you guys think???

1) If a deal sounds too good to be true, it's because it is too good to be true. Be sure to run his VIN if you consider this.

2) His car has less options and only has a little bit better suspension... IMO.. what are you thinking?!

well its at a dealer, so i dotn have to worry bout that, theres a small warranty, and im only thinkin bout it because its a manual and i have an auto.

Run the VIN in that case then. IMO you're losing out because in the end, the manual is worth less.. and even more so because it has a lot less to offer as far as options go.

in all honesty i would keep your current car.

i'd say go for it if the car checks out.
it's a year newer and has the more desireable 5spd manual. i dont see how you'd be losing anything here to be honest with you.

if you think its a fair trade then go for it, it would do it because i really like driving 5spd

I would do it. I think thats a hell of a deal actually considering your working with a dealer, as long as the car is clean.

are you crazy?

if you want a a new car. GET A NEWER MODEL with less miles. 103k miles isn't something to be bragging about. The dealership wants to get rid of this car, because no one will want to buy it. And they are targeting people like you

+1 if it comes out with a clean record then take it and run.

the second car is MANUAL I'd swap out leather seats for a manual every day of the week.

OP, manual cars are on average worth a little less than automatic cars. I'd take the trade, it sounds pretty even.

because its not needed. Ive seen his car in first person. It was right next to mine. We have met before. Ive checked out his car. Its looks fine and i see no problem with it.
Thats my opinion, he doesn't need to listen to me. But i see no need for doing this.

103k isn't something to be bragging about. Bimmer323, how many miles is on your car now?

Smilez@EuroDyne
10-03-2007, 12:32 PM
well im fine with it, because im all for moving up. 99 to 00. Like if someone offered me an 03 with 2kmiles more than i do and manual, i would be all up in that deal.

I'm guessing you drive an automatic. I swapped out my first car at 17 so I could get a manual.

but he isn't moving up, he is staying the same. He is going from 99, to 99

not like 99 to 02. I would take that deal also if it was liek that

99 to 00 you mis-read.

99 to 02 would never happen without putting another 4k+.

moving up a year and moving a manual is a deal.

Automatic tranny tend to fail more often then manuals. So inconclusion to the OP where are my HID, i mean thats a great deal.

bimmer323i
10-03-2007, 03:02 PM
haha yea its an 00, plus iv hit 105k miles on mine, so the tranny should go out within the nxt 50k miles. Plus i personally know the dealer, i hooked my friend up with a 01 325i sp, pp, 5spd, alpine white from this same dude and the only problem he had was a water pump 15k miles after he bought it. Plus mileage really doesnt matter to me as long as the car will last me a while. and ray the dude that was seelling the product has no more :(

If that had been your car in place of the 2000 BMW manual, it wouldn't have sold, IMO. Sure a manual may theoretically be worth less...however a BMW with a manual tranny is a lot more rare, or a higher selling point. Sorry to hear ya missed out.
