1991 BMW 318is white with black interior
Very solid car underneath, and a little surface rust starting on the body
Front passenger fender is dented
140xxx miles on the car
5 speed transmission
4:11 lsd rearend
Koni Sport Adjustable shocks and struts
Less then 3500 miles on new lower control arms, ball joints, tie rod end, and koni's
Stock 14" BBS wheels with 195/60-14 Falken RT-615's with 1/2 tread left
New brakes all around 2 years ago with Hawk HPS pad in the front.
I have driven the car everywhere when I race and as a back up car when my car is down
3rd and 4th gears do grind if shifted quick, I believe the syncro's for 3rd and 4th need replaced.
Average 27 mpg normal driving with autox events on the tank
Car is very realible and trust to drive anywhere.
I raced the car for 2 years with kuhmo v710's and falken rt615 currently on the car
2 year G stock champion in my region and 2nd in soloist point last year, currently 2nd in street tire class this year
Going back to my WRX next year in ESP or STX depending on rule change on cats.

Where is said rust starting?

just starting on the pass rear wheel well lip, pass front fender where the dent is, bottom side of the drivers door, and bottom of drivers front fender. Nothing big but just starting.

how bad is the rust on the passenger fender?

nothing is through and is just surface rust. Its not really that bad on the fender.

is it dented by the rust or is it just the angle?

The rust is where the dent is in the fender.

nice car, however requires new EVERYTHING but mileage is enuff to peak me interest - pls give history on car - r u original owner, when if not did u buy, maintainence work/any frame issues especially, and can u provide evidence of this!! also new/rebuilt tranny (while im there) would run how much do ya think- thanx

I'm not the orignal onwer but have owned the car for 2 years. From the time I started with the car I've put new front control arms with ball joints, Koni Sport struts and shocks, front hawk hps pads, 4:11 posi and tires. The car runs great, gets great mileage event with autocrossing the car. I mainly purchased it for autocrossing and have put less then 4000 miles on since i've owned the car. I'm going back to my wrx to autocross. Since i've owned the car it has ground 3rd and 4th gear if shifting quickly. Never looked into replacing or rebuilding the transmission. So I have no idea what it would cost. It had new rotors and pad when I bought it and the guy put 325is interior in the car. This car came from Arizona and from the heat it cracked all the seats and dash. So he put his other interior in the car and purchased another bmw. I've had really good luck with the car and just moving on to something bigger and faster. Need to make room in the garage for winter. I've kept the car in the garage 95% of the time and driven when it nice in the winter.

Bump still for sale

Since i've owned the car it has ground 3rd and 4th gear if shifting quickly. Never looked into replacing or rebuilding the transmission. So I have no idea what it would cost.

What type of fluid are you running in the tranny? If you run Mobil 1 or another that doesn't have friction modifiers, it may grind (usually in all gears though).

I have not changed the fluid in the trans. So I might need to be changed out.
