I was hoping to find an E30, E21, or E28...maybe even E12. Somehow... the thougt of driving the M 25 mile one way commutes everyday in the winter...do not sound good.

I tried to get the wife to agree on me taking the X...but then again her driving the M around in the winter doesn't excite me either...let me know if you guys see anything. I even thought about a couple 2002's.

1980 E12 5spd 528i (with snow tires)v. 1990 E30 325ix...salvage title...panels don't line up that wel.

What are your thoughts?

Or I could pic up a 94 Taurus SHO for cheap MTX...I had an ATX...I liked it.

Price, photos, details? That's not enough info to be able to make any type of suggestion. Also, do you live the flat burbs or in the mountains?

If the two were equal condition, I'd take the E12 528 as long as it has good snow tires on it.

How cheap is the SHO? I have been looking for one as a beater... Great winter car. The climate control in them makes the BMW's Trash in comparison.

seems to me like each winter weve been getting a little more than last. if your gonna have a winter beater you might as well make it something that was made with snow in mind. last year was especially bad but ive pulled people out for the last 5 or so at least.

not what you're looking for exactly, but I have a winter beater for sale. It's a '92 Olds 88, nothing fancy. However, it is in good condition (was my grandmother's car), and just had $2k in work done. Clean Carfax, only looking for $2700. Let me know if you'd consider it... not a bimmer, but it's got new Michelin's too, and its FWD and gets around without problems in winter :D.

Oh, and if you care about gas mileage, it gets ~30mpg on the highway :D
