Hi, everyone.

I'm looking to add a third car to the stable (along with my 911 Turbo and the wife's MDX). It will be an occasional commuter or a car my wife will jump into when she doesn't want to take the big truck. I've been scouring Craigslist for 3 weeks and I'm finding a lot of over-enthusiastic sellers.

First and foremost, I'd like a car that has been extremely well maintained, with well documented records. I'd also like the car to be in good-to-great condition, both exterior and interior. No big dash cracks, cracked wood, ripped seats, sagging headliners, bumpers that need replacing now, peeling paint, etc.

Candidates include:
- E39 528i/540i
- E34 540i (with Alusil block) or 525i
- I'd also consider a nice E36 4-door

I strongly prefer an automatic. High miles is ok as long as the car has been looked after. Ready to buy right away. Thanks.

Hello,
I have a 2000 E39 540 for sale. It is a six speed manual though, you said you'd prefer an auto. Manual gets far better mileage 24-25 on the highway, and is trouble free.
I have all the service records for my car including the original sales reciepts from 2000. I am the 2nd owner, and have had it for nearly 3 years.
It has 105,500 miles on it, but I was looking for more around 10,500 for the car, which is reasonable consider book value is about 14,000.
Please email me if your interested in seeing photo's paquinbrad@hotmail.com. I work in Menlo Park and would be glad to meet you for a test drive.

Hi Hanfrac,

This one seems to fit the bill on what you were looking for. Wrong coast, but it meets your specs.
