I did my rear brakes. I've done plenty of brake jobs in my time. Nothing different about this one other than the sensor. So why do I have a clackity clack noise as I drive? The guide bolts are tight. The anti rattle clips are in correctly. And the contact points are greased. Help???

Did you apply anti-squeal compound to the back of the new pads before you installed them?
I know that applying anti squeal compound prevents the pads from making noise from the vibration that occurs as the pads are pressed against the rotors...but perhaps in your case the anti rattle clip isn't enough to keep the brakes still...and they are "clacking" because they're vibrating as you drive.
Just a thought. I usually apply the compound a few hours up to a day before I plan on installing the pads. It allows the coumpound to dry enough to be tacky and not rub off on other components.

When you say u did your rear brakes did u just do a pad slap, or CPR - caliper, pads and rotors, type of parts oem or AM. If we know exactly what u did we may be able to help better.

Qsilver7, the pads came with some kind of tape or backing that I've never come across before. I greased them anyway.
BMW5868, Just pads. But yes I should have given more info. Now....
Problem solved but created more questions. Turns out it had nothing to do with the brake job itself. In turning the wheels I could hear that tiny scratch sound. Much more pronounced while actually driving. Definetly something touching/hitting. That tells me something is out of round? So by chance/luck, I try one lug bolt at a time and sure enough, one on the left and two on the right were microns too long. So a touch of the grinder to take iff literally a bur from being manufactured and no more rubbing or clackity clack while driving. So now I know what it was and probably what you guys will suggest or ask. But let's see if my suspicions match yours...

Good job - if i were u i would take off the rear rotor and see if the parking brakes retainers are ok or if they are broken and allowing the shoes to come in contact with the wheel bolts. Also check to make sure it isnt the backing plate rubbing on the rotor.
