Hello everyone. When i bought my 740il which is a 98, I got the carfax and everything. Yesterday , a guy here at a get together told me i had the euro version. My question is, what is the difference if any? Thanks...

try running your VIN here to be 100% sure you do have a euro version.

I have a Euro spec 740iA (in Europe) and using part of my VIN, it very accurately identified my car.

Wow, a '98 Sport highline? Did Germany get Sports and highlines before we did, or is the model year numbering different over there? When was your car produced? Do you have VANOS? Sorry about all the questions, I'm just amazed by your perfectly optioned car. :buttrock

Yes. I'm not sure how much sooner, but my car was built in June of 1998.
