UUC Motorwerks Gets a Hat Trick at Road Atlanta!
UUC team drivers win all three JP races and two Spec E36 races!

The weather was hot, but the tires were hotter at über-challenging Road Atlanta this past weekend, 9/22-9/23/2007.

Friday qualifying resulted in a comfortable pole in J-Prepared for Arjun Soundararajan in his #54 325i. Spec E36 King Tim Smith and his co-driver Doug Thomas got a close second for the start of the enduro that afternoon in the #22 car. The 90 minute enduro put the spotlight on consistent lapping from the UUC drivers earning a first place finish for Arjun in JP and a second for Tim and Doug in Spec E36.

Qualifying on Saturday brought more success for UUC with poles for both drivers. At the start of the sprint race, Arjun and Tim battled the pandemonium at turn one to gain positions and set the pace for another win in both classes.

Pressure rose with the mercury on Sunday and the Georgia clay was flying as the two UUC drivers clinched their respective poles in JP and Spec E36, but last-minute setup changes on the 54 car resulted in the JP winner starting last on the grid.

Adrenaline pumping, Arjun drove a phenomenal race, passing ten cars on the first lap alone. By lap eight, he had reclaimed first place in JP. Arjun said “The UUC brakes really held diving into the corners. They allowed me to drive as aggressively as I needed to today.” At the checkered flag, he had passed over 75% of the field and set a personal best lap time for the weekend. UUC saw another victory with Tim Smith taking his second Spec E36 win of the weekend.

Special thanks to Chief Mechanic Josh Jenny, who had the #54 car running flawlessly all weekend. Additional thanks go out to our generous sponsors, JMK BMW, Alcon, Recaro, HRP World, Vibrant Performance, CG Lock, and SPC Performance.

Rob,
Nice to finally meet you in person. It was great getting to know Arjun and equally fun racing with him:D. I must say that the addition of my UUC lightweight flywheel, clutch and awesome short shifter definitely helped my efforts this past weekend. The car ran flawlessly. The whole package has made driving the car much smoother and the shifts are happening much faster. I wish I'd done this a long time ago.
Best of luck to you guys at WGI. Wish I was gonna be there!!!

Of course! Both are rolling UUC catalogs.

Steve, please call me on Monday when I'm back from WGI.

Very glad to hear it! I'm sure we'll catch up somewhere else this year - Pocono, Mid-Ohio, NHIS, and wherever else I'm forgetting.
